With lines snaking up the street from her two gelato stores in Melbourne, and a new recipe book published by Hardie Grant, it’s hard to believe that Lisa Valmorbida’s insanely popular Pidapipò Gelateria has only been around for three years.
At first, Lisa couldn’t come up with a name for her soon-to-exist gelateria. Nothing sounded right. It wasn’t until her father suggested ‘Pidapipò’, an Italian finger game that Lisa’s Nonno used to play, that she felt they were on the right track. Now, she couldn’t imagine it being called anything else.
